Sadler wins pole with new track record at LMS:

#38-Elliott Sadler won the Budweiser Pole for the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with a Track Record lap of 193.216mph for his 4th pole of 2005 and 6th of his career. The rest of the top five are: #12-Ryan Newman [also ran faster the the track record], #48-Jimmie Johnson, #20-Tony Stewart and #18-Bobby Labonte. #00-David Reutimann will make his first career start, 26th. #66-Kevin Lepage was the highest non top-35 team, starting 17th. Five drivers failed to make the race: #36-Boris Said, #80-Carl Long, #50-Jimmy Spencer, #37-Mike Garvey, #92-P.J. Jones [lost engine] and #95-Stanton Barrett [who withdrew].
