Nicorette to sponsor Jeff Gordon in 2006, assoc and 2 races:

Jeff Gordon will be sponsored by Nicorette gum as primary sponsor on the #24 Chevy for two events in 2006. DuPont will sponsor Gordon for 32 races, while Pepsi is on board as lead sponsor for two events [usually May Talladega and Daytina in July]. The stop-smoking gum product also will be an associate sponsor all year for Gordon’s team. The white and green Nicorette logo adorned Casey Mears’ #41 car in limited events during 2005. “NASCAR has done great things for us, and we’re trying to take it to the next level,” said Steve Kapur, of GlaxoSmithKline. “The more people the program is visible to and the more people we have talking about it, the better connection we’ll have with NASCAR fans.” GSK has a “Winners’ Circle” display at NASCAR tracks where counselors talk with race fans about quitting smoking. “Our goal going in was to talk to 2,000 people per weekend,” Kapur said. “Actually, we’re getting more than 4,000 a week asking us for advice on how to quit or on how to help somebody they care about quit.” The company also plans to set up stop-smoking programs with with Hendrick Motorsports.(Gordonline.com), see images of the car on my 2006 #24 Team Schemes page.(10-14-2005)
