Chad Chaffin will attempt to make his third Nextel Cup race in four qualifying attempts today. “We’ve done a lot better than anybody expected,” said Chaffin, who was released from two rides in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season. The Cup team Chaffin drives for is #92-Front Row Motorsports, a low-budget operation in Denver, NC. “They don’t have a lot of resources but they really put a lot of effort into it,” Chaffin said. “Just to qualify for a Cup race these days is a big deal, and we’ve made three of four so far.” Chaffin said there is a chance he could drive for the team full-time next year.
