Veteran NASCAR crew chief and former car owner Jim Graham will serve as crew chief of the #89 team through the end of the current race season, the team announced September 20. Graham, who has served as crew chief on an interim basis during races earlier this month at Richmond and Loudon, earned the position because of the team’s improvements shown at the track. Graham has been with Faith Motorsports since its formation on August 1 and previously served as a crew member. He has been involved in NASCAR racing for more than 20 years and has previously served as a crew member, crew chief and car owner with various race teams. “Jim realizes that we all wear many hats and in addition to crew chief duties he will have to do a lot of other jobs as well, but his leadership is showing,” said team co-owner and driver Morgan Shepherd. The team had previously used veteran crew chief Gere Kennon at Bristol, but Kennon had other racing commitments which prevented him from traveling with the team to Richmond and Loudon, which resulted in Graham being named interim crew chief for those races.(racewithfaith.com)(9-21-2006)
