Mike Bliss, driver of the #16 Xpress Motorsports/Strutmasters Chevy battled back after a bad pit stop to take the win at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Bliss lost the lead on his final trip into the pits when a missing lugnut sent him back to 9th place on the restart. Bliss had a strong truck and came back to pick up the win. The win was Bliss’ 12th win in the Series; his first since 2002. Terry Cook was reeling Bliss in, but ran out of laps and finished second. Rounding out the top five were; #99-Erik Darnell, 3rd; #17-David Reutimann 4th, with #14 Rick Crawford in 5th. Todd Bodine had problems early on and it looked like Johnny Benson might overtake Bodine in the points standings, but a broken driveshaft dashed Benson’s chance at taking the lead. Bodine is now 86 points ahead of Benson. Mark Martin was the first truck out finishing 36th. AJ Allmendinger, while leading early in the race, broke loose and wrecked finishing up in 34th position. There were 21 lead changes among 9 drivers and 7 cautions for 30 laps.(10-28-2006)
