There are many NASCAR racers who have enjoyed longevity in Americas top touring race series, but not many can say they have been strapping on a helmet nearly every week for four decades. Sixty-five-year-old Morgan Shepherd will be celebrating his 40th anniversary in the sport when he competes in Saturdays Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. From his first late model start at Hickory Motor Speedway in June 1967, Shepherds journey has taken him through nearly every level of stock car racing and has seen him at the top and bottom of the sport at various times throughout his storied career.(Faith Motorsports PR)(6-7-2007)
