Nine teams from the Craftsman Truck Series were at the Iowa Speedway for testing on Thursday. Craftsman Truck points leader Mike Skinner was at the Iowa Speedway. Former Nextel Cup Series regular and Craftsman Truck Series driver Johnny Benson was also in Newton as well as Todd Bodine. Scheduling decisions coincidentally are made in Daytona Beach, Fla., NewsChannel 8 reported. Track officials are in Florida announcing another event. They told NewsChannel 8 on the phone that they are meeting with NASCAR on Thursday and Friday to discuss possible future events. Drivers said that the Iowa Speedway reminds them of the Richmond International Raceway. “You know, one of my favorite places ever was Richmond, and they took that race away from us. So we need to replace it with Iowa,” Skinner said.(KCCI.com)(7-5-2007)
