Kahne Races in Iowa after winning All-Star race:

Two hours. That’s how much sleep Kasey Kahne managed between Saturday night’s improbable $1 million Sprint Cup Series All-Star Challenge win at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and flying in to race Sunday at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. “I’m starting to feel it catching up to me,” Kahne said at 11am as he prepared for the U.S. Cellular 200 NASCAR Camping World Series race at the-mile asphalt track. “I’ll be fine once I get in the car, but, man, I was starting to get tired.” Kahne, who finished third in Sunday’s race [won by Brian Ickler], said the postrace celebration Saturday lasted as long as his subsequent slumber session. “It just went on and on and on with everything you do when you win a race at Lowe’s (Motor Speedway) “” especially an All-Star race,” said Kahne, who needed the fans’ vote to gain entry into the All-Star Challenge. “(That’s) good, it’s all fun stuff. I got done with that and about 12:30 got to my motor home, left the track at about 1:45, took a shower when I got home, got to bed at three, woke up at five. Flew here, got here at 7:15 and went to the driver’s meeting.”(Des Moines Register)(5-19-2008)
