Goodyear Tire Notes for Darlington:

Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run the same tire codes at Darlington this week . . . this will be the same right-side code (D-4130) that teams in these two series ran at Darlington last season, but it is paired with a different left-side code (D-4152) . . . this year’s left-side has a softer compound than the one run at Darlington last year and will give the cars more grip . . . this set-up came out of a Goodyear tire test at Darlington on March 10-11 . . . participating in that test were Denny Hamlin (Toyota), Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet), Bobby Labonte (Ford) and Elliott Sadler (Dodge) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Darlington . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. The estimated pit window is every 60-65 laps, based on fuel mileage.(Goodyear PR), see tire pressures, codes and more on my Darlington Race Info Page.(5-8-2009)
