Harvick wins at Daytona:

  • #29-Kevin Harvick won the Coke Zero 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway for his 2nd win at the track, 2nd win of the season and 13th of his career. The start of the race was delayed 90 minutes because of rain. #9-Kahne finished 2nd followed by #24-Gordon, #88-Earnhardt, Jr., #31-Burton, #99-Edwards, #2-Busch, #83-Sorenson, #71-Bliss, and #82-Speed. The race ended with a green-white-checker finish. #33-Bowyer was leading on the final restart but lost the lead and ended up spinning on the final lap to finish 17th. The “big one” happened on lap 148 when #2-Busch and #31-Burton made contact while running up front. Drivers behind them tried to check up but set off a chain reaction. There were a total of 19 drivers involved: #77-Hornish, #42-Montoya, #48-Johnson, #39-Newman, #09-Labonte, #98-Menard, #82-Speed, #9-Kahne, #5-Martin, #20-Logano, #14-Stewart, #83-Sorenson, #38-Kvapil, #7-Gordon, #12-Keselowski, #47-Ambrose, #16-Biffle, #78-Smith, #11-Hamlin. The accident caused a 19 minute red flag. Points leader #29-Harvick saw his lead increase to 212 [from 105] and #24-Gordon moved to second.
    There were 47 lead changes among 18 drivers and 9 cautions for 37 yellow flag laps. The attendance was reported at 115,000, the same as 2009.
