It’s been nearly two months since a Big Red Tundra has roared in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the last being Germain Racing’s Brendan Gaughan in June at Texas Motor Speedway. This Friday, for what many fear is the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the storied Indianapolis Raceway Park , Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine will wheel the No. 5 Big Red/International Trucks Tundra for Randy Moss Motorsports. Co-sponsoring Bodine is Big Red, Inc; one of the top 10 beverage companies in North America with a history dating back to 1937.(Germain Racing/RMM PR) [Rendering of the #5-Big Red/International Trucks Toyota is posted on the #5 NCWTS Paint Schemes page.](7-27-2011)
UPDATE: With his Germain Racing team lacking sponsorship for eight of the 15 races that still remained, Bodine faced the grim reality of having to skip the July 16 event at Iowa Speedway, which would have marked the first time since 2004 that he had missed a Truck race. But two days before the Iowa race, Germain and Randy Moss Motorsports officials announced a “collaborative effort” to field a truck for Bodine in that weekend’s event. That truck — a No. 5 Toyota — is the one Bodine will drive in Friday night’s AAA Insurance 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis and for the rest of the season as Germain and Randy Moss Motorsports split the sponsorship load. Bodine will carry sponsorship from Big Red this weekend. The remaining races will be covered by Randy Moss team sponsor International Trucks/Monaco RVs, along with Germain sponsors Tire Kingdom/Service Central and Valvoline.(SceneDaily.com)(7-29-2011)
