Happy 237th Birthday, U.S. Army:

It was this week 237 years ago that our Nation’s leaders established the Continental Army, beginning a rich heritage of successfully defending this great country and her citizens. Today, we celebrate the continued honor, loyalty and bravery of our Soldiers in this noble calling. The Nation’s freedom rests in the hands of our Soldiers, families and civilians. Their dedication makes them the strength of our Army. This year, our Army celebrates 237 years of defending freedom and democracy around the world. To all those who serve both at home and abroad, to their families who continue to endure and to the civilians who support them, Happy Birthday. In honor of the U.S. Army’s birthday, #39-Ryan Newman will participate in two cake-cutting ceremonies at Michigan. The first will be held immediately following the drivers ‘ meeting outside the media center. The second ceremony will be held on the pre-race stage before driver introductions. This weekend at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Ryan Newman and Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) will help celebrate the continued honor, loyalty and bravery of our Soldiers in this noble calling as Newman takes the #39 U.S. Army Chevy into the Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Sunday.(US Army Racing)(6-14-2012)
