Chicagoland Speedway returns to 2027 NASCAR schedule

NASCAR today announced that Chicagoland Speedway will return to the NASCAR calendar June 25-27, 2027, following the sellout return of the fan-favorite track in 2026. NASCAR will bring the excitement of the ARCA Menards Series on Friday, June 25, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday, June 26, and the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, June 27, 2027.

“The fan response this year was overwhelming, so we’re thrilled to be able to honor that turnout with another milestone weekend of racing in Joliet,” said Jacque Herrera, General Manager of Chicagoland Speedway. “I grew up coming to this track with my family, so to see it roar back to life this year and return to the NASCAR competition schedule in 2027 is an incredible thrill.”

Chicagoland Speedway drew fans from 31 countries and all 50 states in its highly-anticipated return to the NASCAR schedule in 2026, with nearly 60% of ticketholders attending their first NASCAR event. The event was book-ended by sellouts at both Michigan International Speedway and Iowa Speedway, representing the growing demand for NASCAR racing throughout the entire Midwest.

Chase Briscoe, driver of the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, took the checkered flag at the 2026 eero 400, capping off the historic Independence Day Weekend. Brandon Jones won the Cuervo 300 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race on Saturday, July 4 and Connor Mosack secured the victory in the Ashley Furniture 150 ARCA Menards Series race on Friday, July 3.

Following three successful years, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race will not return on the 2027 schedule. Chicagoland Speedway represents NASCAR’s ongoing commitment to the greater Chicagoland region, which remains a top market with over one million NASCAR fans.

Chicagoland Speedway opened in 2001 and hosted NASCAR’s premier series races for 18 seasons before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of all racing activity across the country. In 2022, NASCAR introduced the Next Gen Cup Series car, which quickly raised the intensity of competition at 1.5-mile oval tracks. Since then, fan demand for intermediate tracks like Chicagoland Speedway has continued to grow.
