With Armed Forces Day being celebrated on Saturday (May 18), Kurt Buschs #78 Furniture Row/Sealy Chevrolet will observe the annual holiday with a special paint scheme for Saturday nights Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Armed Forces Day, which was created in 1949 and celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May, was an initiative led by President Harry S. Truman to establish a single holiday for citizens to pay tribute to the men and women who served in the United States armed forces. The paint scheme for Buschs car for the Sprint All-Star Race will include a ribbon on both the hood and rear quarter panels announcing Armed Forces Day. The inscription: ‘Thank You For Your Service” will also be positioned below the ribbon on the quarter panels. Over the past year, Busch has worked with the Armed Forces Foundation by living up to its motto: ‘Serving those who Serve” and partnering in various events, such as the military inspired mud run ‘Busch Whacked” at Texas Motor Speedway.
