Justin Allgaier will be making his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In last years inaugural race, Allgaier started 14th and finished 12th at the famed 2.5-mile track. This weekend the #31 will have a Jason Leffler Tribute paint scheme: Turner Scott Motorsports team co-owner Harry Scott Jr. on the Jason Leffler Tribute Paint Scheme: ‘Jason was a big part of the Turner Scott Motorsports family; not only did he race for our team, but we also all considered him to be a close friend. Were very honored to be able to run this tribute car and remember Jason, but we also wanted to highlight the trust that has been established for Charlie. Everyone knows how much Charlie meant to Jason, and how much he loved being a dad, so Im especially honored to be a trustee on the Charles Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust. Indianapolis was Jasons second home, and he appreciated all the history of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and what it meant to race there, so it is an especially fitting track to be able to honor him and highlight the trust.” Crew chief Scott Zipadelli on the Jason Leffler Tribute Paint Scheme: ‘Although I never raced at IMS with Jason, I did race Lucas Oil Raceway two times with him and also helped him work on his midget the same week there. He was such a huge fan of Lucas Oil Raceway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He had respect for the history of IMS and all of the drivers that raced there. Jason raced in the Indianapolis 500 and also raced a Cup car at Indy. It is a shame he never got to run a Nationwide race at the big track because that would have meant more to him than racing at any other track on the circuit. Being at Indy with Jason was always a fun time because he knew everyone in town. He knew every driver and team of every year at Indy. He was a student of USAC, IndyCar and Champ cars. To honor Jason and Charlie Dean at Indianapolis is going to be one of the highest honors I have been able to be part of, and he would be very proud of TSM for this. Ive never wanted to win a race more than I do this week.”(Turner Scott Motorsports), see an image of the car on the #31 team paint schemes page .
