Indy Goodyear Tire Notes:

While teams in both NASCAR series in action at Indianapolis this week will run the same right-side tire code, they will be on different left-side codes . . . in the Sprint Cup Series, this is the first time teams have run this left-side code at Indianapolis, though they did run it at Phoenix earlier this season . . . compared to what was run at IMS last season, this tire features a compound change . . . Cup teams did run this right-side code at Indianapolis last season . . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at The Brickyard on April 30-May 1 . . . drivers and teams participating in that test were #21-Trevor Bayne, #78-Kurt Busch, #24-Jeff Gordon, #2-Brad Keselowski, #55-Mark Martin and #14-Tony Stewart . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams will run inner liners in all four tire positions at Indianapolis . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire (Goodyear), see trie codes, pressures, set numbers and more on the Indy Race Info page – Goodyear section .
