This is the 11th track qualifying record that has been broken so far this season by the Gen-6 race car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Johnson also broke the track qualifying record at Martinsville Speedway this season. This is his 31st pole in 420 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. This is his second pole and 12th top-10 start in 2013. This is his third pole in 24 races at Pocono Raceway. Kyle Busch (second) posted his 17th top-10 start of 2013 and his 10th in 18 races at Pocono Raceway. Carl Edwards (third) posted his seventh top-10 start at Pocono Raceway.
