Texas to have largest purse of Chase races:

Texas Motor Speedways AAA Texas 500 once again will boast the largest purse among the 10 races in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the events largest since 2009. Texas Motor Speedway will award $7,039,782 to the 43 drivers competing in the Nov. 3 AAA Texas 500, an increase of more than $70,000 compared to last years total of $6,969,209. The purse is the largest since 2009 when the AAA Texas 500 posted a record purse of $7,359,286. Since 2005, Texas Motor Speedway has played host to the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, which annually features the largest purse and largest-attended race of the 10 races in NASCARs version of the playoffs. The OReilly Auto Parts Challenge and WinStar World Casino 350 also will award sizable purses. The OReilly Auto Parts Challenge Nationwide Series race on Saturday, Nov. 2, will award $1,127, 526 while the WinStar World Casino 350 Camping World Truck Series race will award $550,369.(TMS)
