With its 2013 racing season finished, the next task for Texas Motor Speedway is finding a sponsor for its next Sprint Cup race on April 6, 2014. The National Rifle Association (NRA) sponsored this seasons spring Cup race, triggering controversy. On Sunday, TMS president Eddie Gossage acknowledged that the race does not have a sponsor. David Higdon, managing director for NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications, said in April that the group annually reviews its policies for sponsors. ‘We have a more focused attention on our brand and how the brand gets affected, and every year we learn different things’ Higdon told USA Today. ‘Certainly, this has been an education process.”( Dallas Morning News )(11-4-2013) News from November 3, 2013
