Homestead- Miami Speedway s charitable arm, Driving for a Cause, will award $25,000 in grants to four local organizations during Ford Championship Weekend. Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer made the announcement. The donations come in addition to the track s donation of more $300,000 annually to dozens of South Florida organizations that donate their time to work Ford Championship Weekend in lieu of individual payment, and then receive a donation for their particular organization. The Farm Worker Association of Florida, Boys & Girls Club of Broward County, Branches (formerly South Florida Urban Ministries) and Homestead South Dade Kiwanis Foundation were selected as the initial recipients during in the recent Driving for a Cause grant review process. Each organization will be recognized during pre-race ceremonies Sunday prior to the Ford EcoBoost 400.(HMS)
