Fox’s Artie Kempner to wave green flag at Dover:

Wilmington [Delaware] resident Artie Kempner will take brief a break from directing FOX’s telecast of Sunday’s NASCAR race to wave the starting flag for the Sprint Cup Series FedEx 400 benefitting Autism Speaks. It’s an appropriate honor for Kempner, the founding president of Autism Delaware who has been driven by son Ethan’s life with autism. Kempner credited Dover Downs and FedEx for their enthusiasm in partnering with Autism Speaks, where he is a board member, and striving to bring awareness to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Mark Rossi, Dover Downs vice president for sales and marketing, said there was a quest to create ‘something bigger than just a race.’ The link with Autism Speaks did just that, transforming it into a ‘lighthouse event’ that draws attention toward an important cause.(Delaware News Journal)(6-1-2014)
