  • UPDATE: Joe Nemechek’s jackman, Scott Glasscox, was injured during the last pit stop when he was struck by Rusty Wallace’s Miller Lite Ford. He was diagnosed with a possible right wrist and left foot fracture. No further word on his condition is currently available.(GoRacing)(4-6-98) – Glasscox, luckily only had a sprained wrist and got an apology from Penske South Racing(WC Today Radio)(4-7-98)
  • Testing at Martinsville continued with the following drivers testing: Jerry Nadeau(#13); Ernie Irvan(#36); Todd Bodine(#35); Dale Jarrett(#88); Jeff Green(#30); Bobby Labonte(#18) and Chad Little(#97). No speeds given.(RPM2Nite)(4-7-98)
  • Steve Grissom(#41) and Ricky Rudd(#10) tested at Talladega on Tuesday. Andy Hillenburg also tested one of Rudd’s cars(WC Today Radio)(4-7-98)
  • UPDATE: Greg Sacks, another driver injured at Texas, will stay in the hospital in Texas another day for additional tests. So far all tests have come back negative, but Sacks does have a concussion.(RPM2Nite)(4-6-98) – RPM2Nite said he will stay an additional night for a few more tests, but so far all he has is a Stinger which is a stretching of a nerve in the shoulder and neck, a common NFL injury. Sacks told his team that he plans to be in the #98 Ford at Martinsville.(4-7-98)
  • The #82 Carolina Shoe Chevy BGN car of Mark McFarland tested at Richmond, Va. on April 3rd. McFarland ran 4 tenths of a second off the pole speed from the spring BGN race last year. The team also has test dates for Loudon, NH the 20-22 of April and I.R.P. the 6-9 July.(4-7-98)
