#88-Shane Van Gisbergen won the Grant Park 165 NASCAR Cup Series race at the Chicago Street Course. The win is his second win of the year, second at Chicago and third career win.
#54-Ty Gibbs finished 2nd followed by #45-Tyler Reddick, #11-Denny Hamlin, #8-Kyle Busch, #16-AJ Allmendinger, #60-Ryan Preece, #48-Alex Bowman, #33-Austin Hill, and #1-Ross Chastain.
Van Gisbergen started from the pole, lead 26 laps, and was leading the race by more than two seconds when the caution came out on the final lap due to an accident by #51-Cody Ware.
The fastest lap bonus was earned by #45-Tyler Reddick.
Stage 1 was won by #71-Michael McDowell. Stage 2 was won by #12-Ryan Blaney.
There were 6 lead changes among 5 drivers and 7 cautions for 15 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 66.674mph.

Race updates:
CAUTION is out on the final lap and SVG will win.
White flag for SVG. His lead is 2.4 seconds over Gibbs.
Lap 74 – Two to go. Reddick up to third and coming fast, but may run out of time. He’s 2.8 seconds back.
Lap 73 – SVG over Gibbs by 1.8 second, Hamlin 3.2 seconds back and then Reddick 3.6 back. Allmendinger, in fourth, has fallen 9 seconds back. Three to go.
Lap 72 – Four laps remaining. SVG ahead of Gibbs by 1.4 second.
Lap 70 – Wallace gets spun after battling with Bowman. Bell spins but is able to restart and continue.
Lap 69 – SVG up by 1.2 second over Gibbs, Allmendinger 2.8 seconds back. Briscoe gets to pit road.
Lap 68 – SVG with a good restart. He’s 1 second ahead of Gibbs. Briscoe has a tire go down but cannot get to pit road and will have to limp around this lap.
Lap 67 – Green flag with 9 laps remaining.  Weather getting closer.  SVG, Gibbs, Allmendinger, Hamlin, Briscoe the top 5.
Lap 65 – Under caution and a few rain drops reported around the track.
Lap 64 – SVG out to a .8 second lead over Gibbs. Allmendinger, in third, is already 2 seconds back. CAUTION now out for Cindric stopped on track.
Lap 63 – Green with 13 laps remaining. Rain is approaching the track.  There could be some lightning in the area soon. SVG leads Briscoe, Gibbs, Allmendinger, Hamlin, Wallace, Chastain, Larson, Logano, Preece. Chastain into the wall in turn 1.  Stenhouse and Cindric into the wall in turn 2. Everyone continues.
Lap 62 – Pit road is open.  Reddick pits from third.  The rest of the top 9 stay out.
Lap 60 – CAUTION is out with 16 laps remaining for a spectator medial emergency. They need emergency services to cross the track. SVG had just taken the lead.
Lap 59 – SVG in second and just behind Briscoe for the lead.
Lap 55 – Twenty laps remaining. Briscoe leads Reddick by .7 second. Third place SVG is now 1.8 second back with Gibbs in fourth, more than 6 seconds back.
Lap 53 – SVG now up to third, 3 seconds behind Briscoe. Blaney comes to pit road again.
Lap 51 – Briscoe still leads Reddick. Then Hamlin and SVG.
Lap 49  Green flag for the start of the final stage. 27 laps remaining. Briscoe leads Reddick, Bowman, Wallace, Hamlin, Nemechek, SVG, Bell, Gibbs, and Allmendinger.
Lap 48 – Pit road open.  Blaney pits from the lead.  Briscoe stays out, as does Reddick, Bowman, Wallace, and Hamlin.  A mix of strategies behind them.
Lap 46 – CAUTION for the end of stage 2. Blaney wins it over Briscoe, Reddick, Bowman, Wallace, Jones, Hamlin, Elliott, Nemechek, Bell.
Lap 44 – Allmendinger pits from the lead.  Blaney now out front.
Lap 43 – SVG pits from the lead. Allmendinger now out front.
Lap 42 – SVG has a lead of more than 3 seconds over Allmendinger with 4 laps remaining in stage 2.
Lap 40 – Legge spins and hits the wall in turn 1 but is able to restart and continue.
Lap 39 – Race is past halfway and official.  SVG leads Allmendinger, Gibbs, Blaney and Logano.
Lap 36 – Berry is officially done for the day. McDowell is being pushed to the work area for the team to continue working.
Lap 34 – Back to green. SVG, Allmendinger, Busch, Preece, Gibbs, Chastain, Logano, Blaney, Larson, Jones the top 10. McDowell has to come back to pit road with a stuck throttle. Busch gets spun in turn 6 but is able to continue.
Lap 33 – Pit road is open.  McDowell pits from the lead. He reports he has a throttle issue. Most of the field stays out. SVG takes the lead.
Lap 31 – CAUTION is out for Berry. He is unable to get the car restarted. Reddick and Briscoe come to the pits just before the caution.
Lap 30 – Berry spins and has damage.
Lap 28 – McDowell continues to lead.  He is on a one-stop strategy for the race. Reddick up to second. SVG is up to 6th place.
Lap 25 – Green for the start of stage 2. Wallace spins in turn 11 after contact from Larson, but continues.
Lap 24 – On the restart it will be McDowell, Busch, Reddick, Briscoe, Preece, Chastain, Nemechek, Hill, SVG and Gibbs.
Lap 23 – Pit road open. A handful of drivers come in. Byron is done for the day. He only completed 1 lap and will finish last, barring any disqualifications.
Lap 21 – CAUTION out for the end of stage 1. McDowell wins it. Then Busch, Reddick, Briscoe, Preece, Chastain, Nemechek, Smith, Hill, Gragson.
Lap 19 – SVG pits from second just before pits close.
Lap 18 – Several drivers hit pit road before the pits close for the end of stage 1. Bell was too fast on pit road.
Lap 16 – Gilliland done for the day.
Lap 14 – McDowell over SVG by a half second. Third place Busch is over five seconds back. Bowman spun in turn 12 but didn’t hit anything and continues on.
Lap 11 – With 10 laps complete, it’s McDowell, SVG, Busch, Reddick, Briscoe, Gibbs, Preece, Bell, Allmendinger, Logano.
Lap 7 – Hocevar and Brown also done for the day.
Lap 6 – Back to green. McDowell leads.
Lap 5 – Under caution its McDowell, SVG, Busch, Reddick and Buescher the top 5. Keselowski and ADillon are done for the day.
Lap 4 – Back to yellow after a 14 minute red flag.
Lap 4 – CAUTION is for several cars stopped in turn 11. Hocevar, Keselowski, ADillon Gilliland, Herbst, Suarez, Brown among those involved after Hocevar hit the wall and blocked the track. Race will be red flagged to get the track cleaned up.
Lap 3 – Byron is off the pace and coming to pit road.
Lap 2 – McDowell took the lead on the start and leads lap 1. Byron reporting a clutch issue already.
• 2:25pm/et – Green flag at Chicago. SVG and McDowell on the front row. First stage is 20 laps. Potential rain coming to the area.
• 2:24pm/et – The pre-determined end time for the race today will be 9:10pm/et if necessary.
• 2:10pm/et – Engines fired.
• 2:01pm/et – Pre-race ceremonies are underway
• 1:10pm/et – Rain holding off at the track but it looks like it could be an issue in 90 minutes or so.
• 1:00pm/et – TNT now has live pre-race coverage
• A number of drivers will be starting from the rear due to repairs after practice and qualifying.  The list is posted below.
• Weather could be an issue today, as it has the past two year.  They do have damp weather tires that can be used today. The National Weather Service forecast says: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Southwest wind around 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
