I hear that following the on-track dispute between the #98 and #37, NASCAR’s Mike Helton met with Andretti and Mayfield along with their crew cheifs. After hearing each side, Helton told the teams to just drop it! As Paul Andrews (Mayfield’s crew chief) was leaving Tony Furr (Andretti’s crew chief) rolled a tire into the side of his car and hollered a few choice words at him. Andrews parked the car and went to Helton to report the incident. Helton then sent a NASCAR official to pull Tony’s credential, not sure what happened after that and if it was a permanent deal(7-14-97)
