Tim , a Texaco employee posted the following on the Talk It Over: iRACE Message Boards . Just heard that Kenny Irwin, Jr. is not the likely candidate for the #28 car in ’98. The current candidate is a young guy presently in the top ten in NASCAR Winston Cup points. It is not Gordon!! I’m a Texaco employee that has a contact that will only provide me with limited information. There was no additional information I was provided as to who that “top ten young person” is. Keep in mind it will probably be a current Ford driver(sounds like Mayfield or Burton)(7-20-97)
