Tim Steele update

While driver Tim Steele continues to recover from a recurring vision problem that flared during a test in January, Cup owner Bud Moore has started to look for a sponsor. Steele wrecked last fall during a test at Atlanta and suffered a concussion. Two months ago, he got out of the car after a test and complained of double vision, and he has not been cleared to drive. Moore, who started racing in the Winston Cup series in 1948, had proposed a partnership with Steele and his father, Harold, for this season. The partnership was never completed, and the team feels it must move on. Moore said the team is preparing Ford Taurus’ and possibly could run as early as the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte on May 24.(SpeedNet)(3-19-98)
