There was an unusual contribution Wednesday to a fund set up by Lowe’s Motor Speedway at Charlotte for victims of a fatal spectator accident at the track earlier this month. Trab Crews, a driver in NASCAR’s Goody’s Dash Series, collected $750 during an open house held at his race team’s shop in his hometown of Leoma, Tenn. More than $35,000 has been donated to the fund, set up after three spectators were killed and eight injured when hit by flying debris from a wreck at an Indy Racing League event on May 1.
