Former #68 BGN driver, Freddie Query participated in a two-race Late Model series (ran his Slim Jim All Pro car) at two tracks in Georgia over the weekend(not sure which tracks). The deal was this: if a driver won the first night’s race, then went on to the second track and won that one as well, he received a bonus of $50,000. Query won the first race, then finished second in the second event. So close(7-6-1999) – UPDATE: The tracks were New Senoia Raceway on Friday and Peach State Speedway on Sunday. Both races were sanctioned by the new ASTRO (American Short Track Racing Organization). Freddie won $5,000 for Friday’s win and around $1,800 for Sunday’s second-place run. Georgia late model veteran and ASTRO points leader Wayne Willard was second Friday and first Sunday. Willard and Query lapped the 32-car field(StockCarFans BGN Newsletter)(7-7-1999)
