Felix and Carolyn Sabates became members of the philanthropic Dream Makers Society of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Florida recognizing their 11-year commitment, personal contributions, and development and support of special fund-raising events through the years. In their honor, the naming of the Felix and Carolyn Sabates Athletic Center will be dedicated in a formal ceremony at the NFL YET Center/Lester White Boys & Girls Club in Fort Lauderdale. The formal installation of the Felix and Carolyn Sabates Athletic Center will be held in early 2000. In addition to the naming, the Sabates will be recognized on a Dream Makers Society sculpture to be placed in a public location in the community. The Dream Makers Society ceremony took place on November 13 at the Power & Motoryacht Rendezvous at Fisher Island, Florida, an event attended by the Sabates since 1988. The award was presented by business tycoon and philanthropists, Wayne and Marti Huizenga, in a surprise ceremony attended by 300 guests including NASCAR owners Bill and Betty Jane France, NASCAR Team Owner Jim Mattei, actor Burt Reynolds, televisions Just Shoot Me star Enrico Colantino, and 30 mega-yacht owners and their guests. After the ceremony 14 year old protege Ashley Ballard sang in the Sabates honor a heart-warming rendition of My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion(SABCO PR)
