I hear Bill Elliott Racing(#94 McDonald’s Ford) and Melling Racing(#9 Kodiak Ford) will work together sharing information in 2000 and in 2001 merge into a two car team owned by Melling. Elliott Racing will supply engines to the #9 team in 2001 — UPDATE: Many rumors starting to float around on Elliott and Evernham, but most my sources say while Elliott won’t be the driver, he could be helping Evernham out with try outs for crew members, engine technology and…..hearing that Melling may even switch to Dodge in 2001 with Compton as the driver, so while Elliott probably won’t drive for Evernham, maybe he’ll actually be in a Dodge?? — UPDATE 2: a source tells me that Bill Elliott has not made any deal with Melling Racing to share information or merge the teams and has no deal with Ray Evernham at all(seems some Elliott fans do not like all the rumors floating around, just trying to let ya know what sources are telling me, that’s all, anyhow it looks like most of the rumors are unfounded anyhow) but NOL reports: The team previously announced a strategic alliance to exchange information with Elliott Racing’s No. 94 team, which will supply engines to Melling’s operation in the NASCAR 2000 season
