Henk de Back, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sara Lee Coffee & Tea Company of North America, Retail, announced that HILLS BROS coffee will be the primary sponsor of the #90 Cup team owned by Junie Donlavey beginning with the 2000 Daytona 500 and continuing through the entire 2001 season. Junie Donlavey first fielded a team in a NASCAR sanctioned event in 1950. He is the recent recipient of the Myers Brothers Award from the National Motorsports Press Association, and the Spirit of Ford Award, the most prestigious motorsports honor Ford bestows. He is in his 51st consecutive season as a team owner, the longest such streak in NASCAR. Donlavey, who entered nine races in 1999 with Hills Bros as a sponsor, said starting his second half-century in NASCAR with support from Hills Bros is a tremendous opportunity. Second generation driver Ed Berrier was named to drive the Hills Bros Coffee Ford Taurus. The son of former NASCAR driver Max Berrier, Ed has raced in the NASCAR Busch Series and scored his first win in 1998. In 2000 he will be competing for rookie-of-the-year honors against some great young drivers. He has made nine NASCAR Winston Cup Series starts, including four last season in Donlaveys cars. In the past he has served as a test driver for Donlavey in Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) events since in 1995(Keystome PR condensed)(2-19-2000)
