  • #50 Troubles? UPDATE 3: The #50 Dr Pepper/Washington-Irving Motorsports(WEM) team didn’t attend Dover for the race. Hearing that WEM didn’t make it’s payroll last week and the crew was sent home. This team could cease to exist soon(6-3-2000)
    UPDATE: the Tony Roper Site has a notice up:The Washington Erving team will not be at any races for the foreseeable future. Roper is the driver of the WEM #50 Dr Pepper BGN Chevy(Tony Roper Site) AND the Washington Irving Motorsports site “ www.washingtonerving.com simply has posted:This site will Temporarily be closed please keep checking back. Doesn’t look good(6-22-2000)
    UPDATE: hearing the following “ Dr Pepper will be in racing this year and next year but not with Washington/Erving is unofficial gone. Supposedly, Tony Roper will be the driver of the new team. Roper also was the driver of the #50 WEM car(6-24-2000)
    UPDATE 3: hearing that Roper is talking to a few teams about driving for them in a handful or possibly the remaining BGN races in 2000. Those deals Roper is working on don’t include bringing DrPepper as sponsor. Roper hopes to announce his future plans by mid week(6-27-2000)
