Stewart to Start 7th in the Indy 500: Tony Stewart ran the 7th fastest qualifying lap at Indianapolis on Saturday with a speed of 224.248mph and will start 7th in May 27th’s Indy 500. Former Cup driver, Robby Gordon qualified 3rd with a speed of 224.994mph(5-13-2001) Stewart qualified 12th for the Coca-Cola 600 but will have to fall to the back of the pack as he will miss the driver’s meeting for the race(3:45pm/et). Mike McLaughlin stands by at Lowes and Richie Hearn is the stand-by driver for Indy if Stewart needs it(5-27-2001)
