#9 Crew Chief may Miss Pocono UPDATE: Bill Elliott may be without his crew chief for the Pocono 500. Mike Ford flew home to North Carolina Thursday to be with his sick father. It was not known late Friday evening whether Ford would return for Sunday’s race. Serving in Ford’s place during Friday’s qualifying was team owner (and former #24 crew chief) Ray Evernham(AJC) UPDATE: it was mentioned during FX’s Happy Hour coverage that Mike Ford will be at the track Sunday and call the shots for Elliott on Sunday. Evernham will once again spot for Elliott(6-16-2001)
