McReynolds spins out Hammond:

McReynolds spins out Hammond: Fox NASCAR analyst and veteran Winston Cup crew chief Larry McReynolds shared victory lane with seven 600 Racing Legends Car, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster drivers as 187 cars were on hand for round two of the Summer Shootout Tuesday night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. McReynolds scored a victory for “The Booth” as he beat fellow Fox analyst and “Hollywood Hotel” representative Jeff Hammond in the NASCAR Grudge Match. The three-race battle came down to the final three-lap run and it was over early when McReynolds got into the back of Hammond, spinning him out of contention. “This ain’t over,” Hammond said after climbing from his Winston Cup-style convertible. George and Lucy Meeks were the lucky fans selected to ride along with the Grudge Match competitors. George was in the passenger seat of McReynolds’ winning car while his wife, Lucy, rode with Hammond. BGN driver Jimmie Johnson, who will move to the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit next season in a fourth Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, will square off against a special mystery driver in next week’s NASCAR Grudge Match.(LMS PR)(6-21-2001)
