Driver Debut: Mario Hernandez will make his BGN debut in the #8 Liberty Homes Chevy fielded by Highline Performance Group this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park. When the Miami, FL-native takes the green flag for the October 13 running of theSam’s Town 250 he will become the first Hispanic to compete in a BGN event. Hernandez is no stranger to Motorsports’s He has competed in many series such as the Southwest Featherlite Tour, Indy Lights, Mexican Formula 2, and Formula Opel Europe. He also competed in Formula Ford where he raced in the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship gaining five wins. The 29-year-old has a total of 22 racing victories to his credit. Hernandez and the Highline Performance team tested at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in preparations for this weekends event.
