Carl Long news: Carl Long and the #85 Mansion Motorsports team will be back racing in 2002. The team plans to attempt the Daytona 500 with a brand new Dodge and Petty Dodge engines (from 2001, PE will go with a different engine builder). The team will go to the Daytona January (7th-10th) test to test out the new car and engines if they are able to finish the car in time. There is not a 2002 chedule yet for the races Mansion Motorsports plans to attempt, but it is possible the team will run 6-10 races. Also Long wants to let a west coast team use his Dodge engines that he recieved from Petty Enterprises so that he can drive in Winston Cup races on the west coast.
