Kerry to test at Daytona UPDATE 4 and run some Cup races: Kerry Earnhardt will test the Dale Earnhardt Inc. Wallace’s team earlier this week, but Waltrip would not have had available help. It’ll help Michael, Little E and Kenny. Also hearing other two-car teams are also bringing back baseline cars that were in the first test using different numbers(1-12-2002) UPDATE 3: CNN/SI’s NASCAR Plus show reported that Kerry Earnhardt will run 4-5 Winston Cup races early in the season. Running the #81 DEI Chevy (no sponsor mentioned). When Steve Park is ready to return (between Texas and Daytona in July) to the #1 Pennzoil Chevy, Kenny Wallace will drive the #81 which will have gained owners points in case provisionals are needed.(CNN/SI’s NASCAR Plus)(1-14-2002) UPDATE 4: Kerry Earnhardt, oldest son of the late Dale Earnhardt, is testing the #81 Chevy for Dale Earnhardt Inc. this week at Daytona in hopes of running a few Winston Cup races this season in addition to his BGN schedule. Earnhardt is using a speedway car from the Steve Park team to test this week. “We’re just down here trying to get some seat time for me and help my guys learn a little bit in aero stuff,” he said. “If I’m ready, if I’m comfortable (I’ll so do some Cup races).
