Vickers Cuts Back:

#40-BLV Motorsports competing in the BGN with driver Brian Vickers, are actively seeking sponsorship for the balance of 2002 and the full 2003 season. Current sponsor, Engineered Machined Products (EMP) will continue to support the team in a reduced role.. EMP’s original 2002 plans were based on business-to-business partnerships to help support the program, which have not materialized to their expectations for various business and economic reasons. The team will also continue their relationship with the. National Automotive Center (NAC). The U.S. Army has been approached about a role with the team for the future and they are currently assessing their options. The team will run at least 10 races for the remainder of the 2002 season (Kentucky is the next event). According to a team spokesperson, “We greatly value EMP’s continued support in light of the current economic climate facing us all.. As BLV Motorsports moves forward, we are targeting events that will enable Brian and this team to showcase their talent in hopes of catching the eye of additional prospective sponsors who are looking for a dynamic, young representative who continues to prove himself each time he competes.” The car will only have the EMP logo on the hood going forward.. There will not be any sponsor markings on the quarter panels, decklid or TV panel unless we secure additional funding.(BLV Motorsports PR)(6-13-2002)
