NASCAR officials announced that CTS crew chiefs Michael Mittler and Bernard Taft have been fined for infractions occurring during inspection for the July 6 OReilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway. Mittler, crew chief for the #63 Ford and Taft, crew chief for the #23 Chevrolet, each was fined $250 for actions detrimental to stock car racing, specifically under Sections 12-4-A and 20B-11.2.B of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rule Book, use of parts that do not conform to NASCAR rules – use of unapproved front jacking bolts.(NASCAR PR)(7-9-2002)
