Driver to debut in Chicago in the #49 Jay Robinson car:

Chicagoland will be the first ever BGN career start for Charlotte, NC native Dan Shaver as a Driver. Through the mid and late 90’s, Shaver owned the #49 BGN team that fielded cars for drivers Kyle Petty, Stanton Barret, Patty Moise and Greg Sacks. The team was sponsored by the NWO and WCW, posting its best run with Kyle Petty who ran 4th at Talladega. Shaver grew up racing go carts and is an accomplished Road Racer, competing in 24 hours of Daytona and numerous other Road Racing endeavors. The thrill of high speeds and close competition drew Shaver back to Stock Cars. In the late 90’s he began to run Goodys Dash speedway events. In 2002 the team expanded into ARCA, posting his best current finish at Michigan in 9th. While building new cars and racing all at the same time is not an easy task, the team takes it very seriously. The team looks forward to Chicago as their weekend for expanding to the next level. Maintaining a competitive race team as a business, and being competitive on the race track is job number one for Shaver and his team. The team is currently sponsored by Petro Express and CITGO.(PR)(7-11-2002)
