Newell-Rubbermaid has extended it’s sponsorship of the #97 Roush Racing Ford and driver Kurt Busch and formed an alliance with Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction Camp thru it’s Blue Ice Sharpie program. The renewal is multi-year.( XM Satellite- NASCAR Radio – Subscription Required)(5-23-2003) UPDATE: Newell Rubbermaid, along with Roush Racing officials and NASCAR Winston Cup star Kurt Busch, announced today that Newell Rubbermaid would continue as the primary sponsor of the #97 Ford, extending a multi-year primary sponsorship agreement. In addition, Newell Rubbermaid also announced, through its Blue Ice brand, an alliance with the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a proud charity of NASCAR founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, which is scheduled to open in June of 2004. Newell Rubbermaid is represented on Busch’s red, silver and black car in 2003 by a number of the company’s brands, including: Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Irwin Industrial Tools, Little Tikes, Graco, BernzOmatic, Lenox, Levolor, Ace, Shur-Line and Rubbermaid Commercial Products. Busch will pilot a “Blue Ice” special paint scheme in Sunday’s race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, which ties in nicely with the Victory Junction Gang Camp endeavor. Not only did Newell Rubbermaid give Victory Junction Gang Camp a donation towards the camp building effort, but also made a commitment to give 1,000 “Keeping it Cool” kits to the camp each summer from 2004-2006.
