Newly crowned NASCAR Grand National, Winston West Series Division champion Scott Lynch will run the Truck Series race at Homestead in the #61 Orleans Dodge. This race will mark Lynch’s second foray in the Craftsman Truck Series. “We ran earlier this year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” says Lynch, who qualified 14th out of a field of 51 and finished 12th. “I really appreciate Orleans Racing and Dodge Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to compete in this event.”
“We have been watching Scott Lynch throughout the season,” explains Dodge NASCAR Truck Program Manager Scott Richter. “Our Dodge development program is constantly on the lookout for new talent and we feel that Lynch is definitely a young rising star in the NASCAR arena. He has done a tremendous job this year, giving Dodge their first Winston West title since 1976 and it is our pleasure to help field him in this race.” Hailing from Burley, Idaho, Lynch, a recent graduate from the University of Utah, has been competing for the past six years. “We’ve had a really great season,” continues Lynch, who earned three poles, three wins, seven top five and ten top 10 finishes in the Winston West Series. Winning both the Raybestos Rookie of the Year title and the Championship is just awesome and I couldn’t be more pleased. Now, we want to end the year with a top ten in the Truck Series.”(PR)(11-6-2003)
