Villeneuve To Reignite Career In America; NASCAR?:

Embattled F1 ace Jacques Villeneuve might reignite his racing career in the USA. The French-Canadian, world champion of 1997, ruled out competing in the oval-based Indy Racing League series because too many racers get hurt. ‘It’s not for me,’ he told Autosport. ‘The only way I can race is to the limit and taking risks, but it’s too dangerous to do that in the IRL.’ Villeneuve says he ‘knows’ he will get hurt in that series. But he added: ‘I might look at NASCAR, actually. That would be a different challenge and fun.’ Villeneuve won the Champ Car and Indy 500 titles in the mid-Nineties. But he won’t even try to get back into Formula One if his renewed career resembles the past few years at BAR-Honda. ‘Craig [Pollock, his manager] would like to see me back, at any cost, but I can only drive if I’m going to be happy. I would never do the BAR thing again.'( Home of Formula One ) past news on this on my Drivers Looking page .(12-8-2003)
