Akins Motorsports team owners Doug Stringer and Brad Akins announced Monday they have hired Tim Shutt, 34, as the new crew chief of the #38 Dodges in the NASCAR Busch Series, which will be driven by Kasey Kahne. The team’s previous crew chief, Wes Ward, has accepted a position with ppc Racing. Prior to joining Akins, Shutt was employed by Joe Gibbs Racing since 1999 as crew chief for drivers Mike Bliss and Mike McLaughlin.(ThatsRacin.com)(12-16-2003)
