Ken Patterson, who served as director of public relations at Talladega Superspeedway before his death April 2 from myelo dysplasia syndrome, has been named the recipient of the National Motorsports Press Association/Pocono Spirit Award for the first quarter of 2004. The award is designed to recognize character and achievement in the face of adversity, sportsmanship and contributions to motorsports.
