After being replaced by Kevin Lepage as driver of the #66 Ford in Nextel Cup, Mike Garvey is working toward a return to the circuit in his own car. Garvey has been shopping for a race-ready car — he prefers a Dodge — and expects to be back in the sport within weeks. Unfortunately for him, the car supply has tightened after several drivers crashed at Charlotte in recent practice sessions. “We were hoping to make Kansas next week, but now it’s looking like Martinsville,” he said, adding that he’s not bitter about his outcome with his old team. “It was a good opportunity, but it didn’t work out,” he said. “I learned a lot doing it, and we’ll be back.”(Atlanta Journal-Constitution)(9-30-2005)
