#40-David Stremme is scheduled to attend the first-ever ‘Pennsylvania NASCAR Day at the Capitol,’ according to Pennsylvania State Representative John Payne (R-Dauphin), Chairman of the State House’s Motorsports Caucus and organizer of the June 7 event. Stremme joins Bobby Labonte and Elliott Sadler on the roster of NASCAR stars scheduled to appear at the legislative salute to NASCAR, which will be held at the State Capitol on the Wednesday prior to the Nextel Cup circuit’s first stop of the season at Pocono Raceway. More than a dozen show cars representing various Nextel Cup racing teams also will be on display at the event, which is free and open to the public. Payne and his staff continue to work with team sponsors and Pocono Raceway officials to get attendance commitments from other top NASCAR drivers. Featured guests will be formally honored in the chambers of the House and Senate, beginning at 10:00a,/et, and will have the opportunity to meet Gov. Ed Rendell. From 11am to 1pm on Commonwealth Avenue outside the East Wing of the Capitol, drivers will sign autographs for fans and cars will be on display to the public. Everyone in attendance will receive one free ticket to the Saturday, June 10 ARCA race at Poco#Also, a raffle will be held for two luxury skybox tickets to the June 11 Pocono 500 race. Joseph Mattioli, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Pocono Raceway, will be one of the featured guests and honorees at Pennsylvania NASCAR Day at the Capitol. Pennsylvania NASCAR Day at the Capitol is being sponsored by Sunoco, Goodyear, Pepsi, and Hershey’s Ice Cream. Additionally, the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Offical NASCAR Members Club will be assisting and distributing applications to those who are interested.
