New MB2 Motorsports owner Bobby Ginn said Wednesday that drivers #14-Sterling Marlin and #01-Joe Nemechek will stay on, and he hopes to give them a pair of teammates next season. “We won’t have any major restructuring this year,” said Ginn, who purchased the Mooresville, N.C.-based Nextel Cup team from Nelson Bowers, one of the co-founders in 1996 [see full PR and story below]. “Our focus will be on next year, when we will strive to become a four-car team.” Ginn said he will add some new equipment this year in preparation for next year’s big expansion. He said NASCAR’s “Car of Tomorrow,” which is scheduled to debut next season, will make all models more alike and level the playing field. Jay Frye, who will remain the team’s chief operating officer, said the sale will end speculation about the team’s future and make it easier to secure sponsors for next season.(Tennessean)(7-27-2006)
