Kertus Davis has been released as a part-time driver for the # 77 Busch Series car at Kevin Harvick Inc.,sources say. The sources said Davis could drive for the North Carolina-based team in another series later this season. Davis signed a one-year contract with Kevin Harvick Inc. in November 2006. He was scheduled to run 13 Busch races this season but failed to crack the top 30 in his first five starts. Davis said he had no comment on his status with Kevin Harvick Inc., when contacted by phone.(Spartanburg Herald Journal)(6-29-2007)

UPDATE 3: Kertus Davis has been released from his contract with Kevin Harvick Inc. and is free to pursue other rides, Davis confirmed Friday at Gateway International Raceway. He was released from his contract last week. Davis said he has moved back to South Carolina and has started working with his father’s team again, DDL Motorsports.
